A native of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Tiera Sedden graduated from Virginia Union University in May of 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology; and later received her Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Instruction from Relay Graduate School of Education in September of 2017.

While attending Virginia Union, she held a number of leadership positions and won the title of Miss Virginia Union University for the 2014-2015 Academic Year. Sedden was also a Spring 13 initiate of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.  It was during her tenure as Miss VUU and the work within her sorority, her passion for service to urban youth and young adults came alive.

This passion has motivated her to continue her works post her undergraduate and graduate career. Currently, she is an Instructional Coach in the Greater Philadelphia School District, a Motivational Speaker and Personal Development Life Coach; and the Founder of Awakened Destiny; an empowerment platform that promotes self actualizing and helps those seeking to fulfill a purposeful mission. Tiera has spoken and facilitated workshops for a number of different organizations and institutions; some including Penn State University, Community College of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Educational Fund, and a host of non-profit organizations and local churches. Tiera has been dedicated to uplifting and motivating others to have confidence in their abilities and greater purpose. She remains grounded in the wisdom of the great Nelson Mandela: “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others the permission to do the same”.
